Danefield Bourne, of Roosevelt, was arrested following a robbery that happened at about 5:40 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 13, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

NCPD said Bourne entered the store, located at 420 Nassau Road in Roosevelt, and took two 12-packs of beer from the shelf.

An employee told Bourne that the store wasn't selling alcohol at that time, and Bourne began to argue with the employee and reached into his back pocket, police said.

The employee saw the handle of a weapon, NCPD said.

Police said Bourne left the store with the beer without paying.

Police located Bourne in the area of Anna Avenue and William Street and arrested him without incident, authorities said.

Police said no injuries were reported.

NCPD reported that Bourne was charged with the following:

  • Third-degree robbery;
  • Second-degree menacing;
  • Fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

His arraignment was scheduled for Monday, Feb. 14.
